About David Goodman...
I was born in Birmingham, Alabama (at a very young age). Fortunately my folks had the wisdom to leave there and move to Miami when I was in diapers, so I grew up in sunnyland. I have lived in Florida most of my life, but also in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, Colorado, Montana, Arizona, California and Australia (is that a state?). I have five children, ages 11 to 30, and two grandchildren. I have played music professionally since I was about 17. Got my first guitar at the age of 12. I was writing songs from the very start, but the first one I can remember how to play was "Red Winged Blackbird", written when I was 15 living in Missoula, Montana. My songs have always had a sense of purpose. I try to write with humor, color, and with an offering of hope within each song. Not always, but usually. I don't like whining songwriters or self centered writers. I believe that the Creator has been at the helm of my songwriting and musical abilities all along, and it is in "His Glory" that I live and breathe. My career has had many facets to it. I have performed on every conceiveable type of stage in every imaginable kind of venue. My passion is playing for Sunday services in praise and worship. I am a published BMI songwriter. I was an institution for seventeen years in Key West at the Hog's Breath Saloon and Schooner Wharf Bar, among others. I survived! I am currently performing at several great venues in south Florida. My wife and children are my greatest joys. I have been blessed with many wonderful friends, colleagues, and "fans" (that seems ego centric when you say it, but you know what I mean) in my life, without whom there would be no meaning. I am humbled, grateful, and my heart is filled with love for all of you who have graced my journey on this planet. I have lived an amazing life. I may not be rich and famous (never too late though!), but I am rich beyond words in what truly counts. Thanks everyone for making it a wonderful dance of life for me! David Goodman
